Olympic Sports Day

Great fun for all!  Many thanks to our volunteers and to Sharon for organising the activities for us.

What a day – sunshine, good food, great company and music – the perfect combination for a days fun with the family.  Thanks to Lynda Hall for the fabulous photos!

Swimming Sports – 23 Feb 2012

There has been a lot in the media of late about schools and their pools – or lack there-of.  Well, when you go to an innovative Steiner school, you soon find out that neither foul weather or lack of a school pool will stop our kids enjoying their “swimming sports” 🙂

Sea-Safe programme – 21st Feb 2012

On a beautiful summer day, Class 5.6 and 7 took to the road with Bill the bus driver from Karapiro Charters and travelled to Waihi Beach on the East Coast.  The children were in for a treat and an educational experience led by two very competent young New Zealand professional life-guards.  The children were given a tour of the amazing Surf Club before talking about the sun smart policy…ask your kids if they remember…and the rules that should be followed at the beach to keep safe.  Then there were games on the beach.

After lunch the children got to spend some time on the beach along with a swim in the waves and relays in and out of the waves.  It was a fantastic day!

Rotary Award – February 2012

Congratulations to Sue Bradley and Jadzia Thomas who were acknowledged by the Rotary Club of Fairfield for their leadership in caring for the environment of our beautiful school. Sue’s award was for the amazing work she has done on the Eco-Hut and Jadzia’s for her maintenance of the worm farm.  Well done both of you!  Come and have a look at both of these ongoing projects in our school.
