The Enrolment Process

Choosing a school is an important decision, and we want families to have a clear understanding of what makes Waikato Waldorf School unique before beginning the enrolment journey. Our Information Evening introduces families to Waldorf education, our Special Character, our educational approach, and some of the ways school life here may differ from other schools.

Attendance at an Enrolment Information Evening is a mandatory part of our enrolment process. No registration is required — simply come along.

Please note that enrolment is always subject to classroom availability. Some of our classes are full and may have waiting lists in place. If you are interested in Waikato Waldorf School, we still warmly encourage you to complete the enrolment process. This means that if a suitable place becomes available, your family is already known to us and ready to move forward.

1. Attend an Enrolment Information Evening
   Parents/caregivers attend an Information Evening to learn more about our school, Waldorf education, our Special Character and the enrolment process.

2. Submit an Expression of Interest
   After attending, families who feel Waikato Waldorf School may be a good fit can complete and return an Expression of Interest Form, provided at the Information Evening.

3. Special Character Interview
   Parents/caregivers and their child/ren attend this meeting with the Principal, the relevant Deputy Principal and a representative of the Proprietor Trust. This is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know your family, learn more about your child, talk through our Special Character and expectations, and answer any questions you may have.

4. Classroom Visit
   Students may then be invited to spend time in the classroom. This gives them an opportunity to meet the teacher and other students, experience the rhythm of a Waldorf classroom, and get a feel for whether our school is the right fit for them.

5. Review and Next Steps
   Following the visit, staff consider the fit for the student, family and class. We will then contact you by email with the next steps. Occasionally, an additional classroom visit or follow-up conversation may be requested.

6. Enrolment
   Where a place is available and the enrolment process has been successfully completed, the Office Manager will send an enrolment pack and an agreed start date will be arranged.
